Do You Adobe?

The age of computers is in full swing, and it seems like every thing nowadays revolves around our electronic machines.  Employment sometimes hinges on a person’s ability to use certain computer programs.  And there is no program bigger than Adobe.

The products created by Adobe range from Photoshop for images, to Audition for audio tracks.  There are plenty of different uses for the company’s items but before you can utilize them, you must first learn the ins & outs.

There will be a full fledged Adobe Photoshop training class in Rochester on Monday, August 23rd.  With your enrollment in such a class, you will become an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE), which will help open up many more doors for you.  Whether you are looking for new employment or a promotion, your new status will come in handy.

A New York Fireworks Display!

There is so much to choose from this weekend when it comes to getting out and celebrating the Fourth of July holiday! And a lot of people who call Buffalo home like to get out and picnic and celebrate all week long. But it’s especially nice when you can do something with family and friends that is FREE and entertaining.

This year there are two great opportunities to get out and celebrate Independence Day:

  • The Friendship Festival – The Canadians will celebrate America’s birthday with you on their side! This annual event consists of free concerts, food, family activities, craft shows, parades, children activities, cultural events, and fireworks.

OR:

  • Take a Historical Cruise – Take a cruise on the Miss Buffalo Cruise Line. This is an opportunity to learn about the rich history in Buffalo’s role as part of the “Gateway to the West.” Reservations for a Miss Buffalo cruise can be made by calling (716)856-6696.

See the full list of Buffalo events!

Where will you go to see the fireworks in Buffalo?

So Cute!

How many times have you heard that dogs look like their masters? Well, I’ve heard this a million times and think about it as I’m passing by people walking their best friends.

I just came across an article on CNN.com that shows pictures comparing dogs who look like their owners. But are some of these photos really demonstrating this idea or are they just barking up the wrong tree! You decide!

Foreign seeds can be caught anywhere, includin...

One of the most powerful plant foods on the planet!

According to WebMD, you can make a smoothie even healthier by adding flaxseeds to the mix. You can even do this with muffins or cookies.

Apparently the antioxidant and omega-3 essential fatty acid qualities have a protective effect against health risks such as heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes.

Did you know that the flaxseed has been known to man since around 3000 BC? Flaxseed is actually found in the ingredients of many of your favorite foods and you probably never knew it. And in the last 4 years, 75 new products were introduced onto the consumer market that listed flax or flaxseed as an ingredient.

Read the WebMD article!

Check your kitchen cabinets! What do you have with flaxseed in it?

My Own Photographs are Therapeutic

I use my own photos as Art!

Do you have artwork in your home? How do you express yourself? Did you know that psychologists often use Art as a form of therapy?

Art allows us to express ourselves and express who we are to each other. In my apartment, I have enlarged photographs, taken on my trips from around the world, hung up on many of my walls. It’s easy to do!

Many online photo developing services will develop pictures for a really great price. And then I will buy a simple glossy black photo frame from my local Target store. One of my favorite online developers is Snapfish. With Snapfish you can even create calendars and photo albums.

How do you apply the use of art to your home?

A soccer/football ball.

A successful job search starts with great effort.

Are you a job-seeker in need of some great advice?

If there was a World Cup for Job Seekers, how hard would you work to get the job? The World Cup draws in applicants from all over the world – much like a job position. Many of these athletes spend a great deal of time improving their skills to become the perfect candidate for the job.

If someone had to describe your job search efforts, what would they say? If you are not achieving positive results, do you need to assess what you could change or is the artificial turf to blame?

What has distracted you from giving the job search your best effort? Are you tuning out distractions and putting the same effort into your job search as an athlete in his preferred game?

Employers are hiring and you need to be prepared! Is it time to refocus your commitment to your search?
